Our Purpose

Our Purpose…Revive the Church to Harvest the World

Our purpose reveals why we are here or the reason why we exist. This means that there may be many good things that we are able to do but they are not necessarily good for us because purpose defines who we are and who we are not. The purpose for the ministry, including The River, came as a commission from the head of the church, Jesus Christ, and is based and founded out of the scripture found in Hebrews 12:1-2:

THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us, 2Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. For any church to be successful in it’s generation and community it must be able to clearly articulate four things:

• A set of core values
• A core purpose
• A relentless pursuit for greatness
• Strength beyond any one person.
